COOKING TIPS

Don't thaw!

Keep frozen and cook from frozen.

Deep frying

Fry for 3 minutes until golden & crispy all over.

Transfer to a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Best served straight away.

Deep frying batches

For best results, we recommend frying off no more than:

- Deep fryer: 8-10 falafels per batch / 3-5 burgers per batch

Air frying

If using an air fryer. Set to 200-220°C. Drizzle 1 Tbsp per 4 falafel / burger. Cook for 15 mins until brown and firm to the touch.

Oven bake

Heat oven to 220℃, conventional.

Place baking paper on a baking tray. Drizzle olive oil on paper. Place falafel / burger roughly 2cm apart. Do not overlap as they won’t crisp up if touching.

Drizzle olive oil over falafel or burgers.

Place in oven for approx. 20 mins until brown and firm to touch.

Re-use your oil for next time

After deep frying, allow oil to cool to room temperature in the pot. Strain the oil using a fine mesh strainer and pour back into the bottle or a glass jar using a funnel.

Use a thermometer?

Different oils have different smoke points. A smoke point is the point where smoke emits from the oil. This changes the molecular structure of oil and can have adverse health effects. We recommend using a thermometer to deep fry to ensure you are frying below this point.

We recommend:

- 180°C for cooking oils (sunflower, rice bran, vegetable)

- 170°C for a gentler extra virgin olive oil.

No thermometer?

Place a wooden spoon in the oil. When small bubbles form around the spoon, the oil is ready.

What is snap-frozen?

Snap-frozen is a fancy term for freezing a food-product super quickly. It ensures nutrients, flavour, vibrancy and texture are locked in at the point of freezing; giving you the benefit of a fresh product when cooked.

How big are our falafel & burgers?

Our falafel are approx. 40g each.

Our burgers are approx. 115g each.
